Un chant encore non entré dans le corpus dit: “Lakshmi est arrivée (comme une grande dame digne et bien élevée) ramenant le pan de son sari sur sa tête / J’ai gardé du fumier (dans un coin) du wada (la grande ferme)”, pour que Laksmi se rendre bien compte que c’est l’abondance et la réussite. Derrière ceci il y a aussi une pratique rituelle: quand on récure les étables, il ne faut point tout enlever de l’étable, il faut en laisser un reste symbolique, dans un petit coin, comme si une étable complètement essuyée était signe de mauvaise augure. La mère, dans le chant, dit donc à la pastourelle ou sa bouvière de fille ou de brue, que comme Lakshmi est arrivée et va faire son tour d’inspection, il ne lui faut point par excès de zèle peu judicieux balayer ce signe de prospérité. Cet idiome du ’petit reste symbolique’ ou porte-bonheur est un lexème qu’on trouve aussi au moment de la mouture: une meunière femme de maison ne doit jamais dire ’“Enfin, ma mouture est finie…” Il doit toujours en rester un petit peu dans le récipient (on a parlé de cela dans Le Chant des Meules, quelque part).
Réciproquement, une mère dit à son garçon d’aller faire têter les veaux, etc. ou de laisser en place les signes de l’activité quotidienne en gages de prospérité: 22851, 22854, 22966, 22980, 22967 etc.
