Notes =>It’s a tradition to apply halad* to the bride and the bridegroom before marriage. It’s a post-marriage ritual to give a bath to both of them to wash off the halad*. This is called nhanora. For nhanora itual, poles are fixed in the courtyard, they are decorated with banana stalks, coconut leaves, flowers, garlands etc. A rangoli* is drawn in the courtyard to make the environment look beautiful. Then, the bride and the bridegroom are given a bath. On this occasion, Savashin*s sing special nhanora songs while giving the bath, throw colour and water on each other and enjoy the ceremony.
