पुतळ्याची माळ काय लेतीस हाडकला
कपाळीच कुंकू माझ्या दागीना भडकला
putaḷyācī māḷa kāya lētīsa hāḍakalā
kapāḷīca kuṅkū mājhyā dāgīnā bhaḍakalā
A necklace with gold coins, why are you so interested in it
Kunku* on my forehead is my shining ornament
▷ (पुतळ्याची)(माळ) why (लेतीस)(हाडकला)
▷  Of_forehead kunku my (दागीना)(भडकला)
pas de traduction en français
kunkuA red spot applied on the forehead by married women whose husband is alive as a mark of good fortune. This powder is also applied to God as a part of worship. It is prepared from turmeric, lemon juice, alum etc.
Notes =>When a woman dies as Ahev*, all her gold ornaments are removed before the funeral. But because of her Ahev* status, her kunku* on her forehead is not removed. That is her privilege of having died as an Ahev* woman. The special importance enjoyed by kunku* is cherished by women.
