| Notes => | Karav is a plant which dies once it has had flowers and its seeds fall. It finds fulfilment in blossoming into flowers and dies. A mother has the same feeling and hence, she compares herself with Karavi. Karavi is also useful for making a fence, roof and walls of a hut. Similarly, a mother becomes the shelter and protection for her son. Every year Karavi plant becomes lush green after the arrival of monsoon. After the monsoon, all leaves fall and only dried stems remain. This routine continues for seven year and in the eighth year, around September-October, the plant blossoms into purple-coloured flowers. After the bloom is over, flowers give seeds and seeds fall on the ground and the plant dies. The fallen seeds continue the lineage of the plant. When monsoon comes the seeds sprout into plants, thus continuing the cycle of life. | ||
