लोकाच्या लेकराला नको म्हणु पोटजळी
नेनंत्या राघुला पोटी पुत्र पाटबळी
lōkācyā lēkarālā nakō mhaṇu pōṭajaḷī
nēnantyā rāghulā pōṭī putra pāṭabaḷī
Don’t humiliate other people’s child by calling her Potjali
My young son’s Raghu*’s son will be there to give him support
▷ (लोकाच्या)(लेकराला) not say (पोटजळी)
▷ (नेनंत्या)(राघुला)(पोटी)(पुत्र)(पाटबळी)
pas de traduction en français
RaghuLiteral meaning is Parrot. But in the songs, they fondly call their son or brother Raghu
Notes =>Potjali - This word is used for a woman who cannot give birth to a child, a woman who does not have a child early after marriage, a co-wife, etc. who are helpless and totally dependent.
This song also suggests that a daughter-in-law is somebody else’s daughter, but the son born to her is going to be the family’s support
