Brahman says, tie an end of your dhotar* to her sari
Take each other’s name, then it will be the end of reading the Pothi*
(On such occasions, it is a practice to ask husband and wife to take each other’s name in a verse as traditionally they do not call each other by name.)
▷ (बामणबुवा) with dhotar (मार)(गाठ)
▷ (जोडीनी)(नाव)(घ्या)(मग)(पोथीची)(ऊठ)

dhotar ➡ dhotarsWhen the singer says that she goes to her village with dhotar, it means that she is just carrying a cloth to bring things from maher (a married woman’s parental home). Similarly, she sometimes means that she is carrying a stole.
PothiA book telling the story about Gods and deities
