मरगळे ठमा - Margale Thama
सांगते बाळा तुला आगीन गाडीला पिळण
ठेसना वाचूनी नाही तिला वळण
sāṅgatē bāḷā tulā āgīna gāḍīlā piḷaṇa
ṭhēsanā vācūnī nāhī tilā vaḷaṇa
I tell you, son, the train has a Pilan (a track going down sharply on one side exactly on the slope)
Without halting at a station, it cannot take a turning
▷  I_tell child to_you (आगीन)(गाडीला)(पिळण)
▷ (ठेसना)(वाचूनी) not (तिला)(वळण)
pas de traduction en français
Notes =>There is a similarity between the train and a married woman. Pilan means a track going down sharply on one side exactly on the slope. A woman’s mind is equally drawn towards both, her Maher* and In-laws’ family. When she is in her maher, she longs for her in-laws’home, and when she is at her in-laws’, she longs for her maher*. If a train wants to turn, it has to come to a station. Here, this song expresses the state of the woman’s mind.
